Kerdroya
Golden Tree Productions wanted a marketing strategy for their Kerdroya: Cornish Hedge Community Heritage Project, in celebration of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s 60th Anniversary.
Taking place in 12 AONB sections across Cornwall, master hedgers have been working with schools and community groups to conserve and repair hedges in the local style. The project culminates at Colliford Lake in November 2020, with a 50m diameter classical labyrinth constructed entirely from Cornish hedging.
Claimed to be amongst the oldest human-built structures in the world still in use for their original purpose, some hedges are perhaps more than 4,000 years old and provide vital nature reserves for insects, pollinators and flowering plants.
Communications Strategy and Content Creation
As well as putting together an overall communication strategy, I have been writing press releases, overseeing social media content, and working alongside Golden Tree Productions to plan key messaging and promotional activities.
I was also commissioned to photograph the community engagement, and make a film that captured the heart of the project. This was released via social media, and has reached over 25k people on Facebook to date.
